40 years ago newborns with cystic fibrosis very rarely celebrated their first birthday; respectively, no problems related to immunization of patients with cystic fibrosis were identified at that time. Today, the average life expectancy of the patients with cystic fibrosis exceeds the limit of 30 years; thus, the significance of such patients‘ immunization is unquestionable. However, so far no unanimous opinion has been reached with regard to immunization of CF patients. The terms related to the main immunization of infants and children in various countries differ slightly. Furthermore, the attitude towards CF patients‘ vaccination with HAV and HBV, varicella and certain issues of revaccination is not homogenous. The article provides an overview of the latest scientific literature on the immunization of CF patients and highlights the topical problems and shortcomings. It also gives an overview of a summary preventative vaccination calendar introduced in various European countries and the Republic of Lithuania, it also reminds the readership of the main vaccination rules. The article also discusses the dangerous of contagious children‘s diseases controlled by vaccination in the casa of CF patients and raises the issue of preventive measures.
