A pregnant woman suffered from generalized tuberculosis (disseminated pulmonary tuberculosis with positive sputum smear, meningoencephalitis, tuberculosis of placenta). Newborn girl was born at 32 week of gestation with no clinical signs of tuberculosis. To prevent congenital tuberculosis in a face of unknown drug resistance of M. tuberculosis the treatment with isoniazid 10 mg/kg and rifampicin 10 mg/kg was initiated. In the serum of newborn antituberculosis IgG antibodies declined from 140 U/ml (normal value 120 U/ml) at birth till 75 U/ml at age of 80 days when her tuberculin skin test was negative and chest X-ray was normal. Treatment was stopped and BCG vaccination recommended. The level of antituberculosis antibodies helped to evaluate the status of baby. Treatment with antituberculosis drugs prevented the congenital tuberculosis.
