Change of respiratory function in patients with newly diagnosed sarcoidosis

Aim of the Stu­dy: to eva­lu­a­te in­di­ces of res­pi­ra­to­ry func­tion in new­ly diag­no­sed sar­coid pa­tients. Met­hods: cli­ni­cal symp­toms, cell dif­fe­ren­tials and di­stri­bu­tion of lymp­ho­cy­te sub­groups in BALF, chest X-ray, spi­ro­met­ric in­di­ces, lung vo­lu­mes, dif­fu­sion ca­pa­ci­ty and blo­od ga­ses ha­ve be­en in­ves­ti­ga­ted. Ma­te­rials: 154 sar­coid pa­tients we­re exa­mi­ned. Re­sults: most of our pa­tients had nor­mal res­pi­ra­to­ry func­tion in­di­ces. The­re was a mild im­pair­ment of res­pi­ra­to­ry func­tion in mi­no­ri­ty of our pa­tients. Conc­lu­sion: Our re­sults show that most of pa­tients with new­ly diag­no­sed sar­coi­do­sis had nor­mal res­pi­ra­to­ry func­tion.
