The aim of the study was to determine the prevalence of allergic rhinitis symptoms among 6 - 7 and 13 - 14 years old Kaunas schoolchildren and to evaluate dynamics of the prevalence during the last 6 years. 8980 schoolchildren were questioned in 1994-1995 and 2001-2002 years, using standardised ISAAC guestionnaires. Response rate was 90 perc. Allergic rhinitis was diagnosed more often among 6-7 years old boys and 13-14 years old girls (p<0,05). The prevalence of diagnosed rhinitis increased in both age groups during the last 6 years and changes were statistically singnificant (from 1,4 to 2,4 perc. among 6-7 years old and from 4,5 to 6,2 perc. among 13-14 years old schoolchildren respectively.
